That all depends on what you want to consider Legitimate. I think it came
from _Spock's World_. So if like many (including the franchise controllers),
you don't consider the ST Novels canon, one probably should not acknowledge
it as "legitimate". 

However, it sounds neat, and adds to the little smidgen of Vulcan we have
and it does not contradict established canon facts. I personally, think we
should regard it as legitimate.
